I like boats.

This is an old revision of the document!

Frostply

Quote: “The Frostply is a 1954 John Spencer design, popular some years ago. It is well suited to a parent and child or two teenagers. It is light, quick and simple to operate. It has a generous sail plan, but no spinnaker.”

Couldn't have said it better myself. It's a great boat to sail and has a competitive handicap so mixed fleet racing is fun. Ours was built to the older markI design, newer markII boats have a false floor which ensures that after a capsize all the water just drains out the back. This does mean there is less headroom.

We've now sold this boat and bought a Hartley TS16, which is getting some repairs. I do miss the frostply sometimes, it was the nicest sailing boat I've been in so far.
